Against the Wall

What does it mean to truly escape from a life you don’t want to lead? Six generations of the Gould family ponder this question, stuck or so it would seem, in the same Brooklyn apartment. Through their lineage runs the ravenous, unattainable hunger for escape and the curse of immobility. This is not the linear story of a family’s rise and fall, but an out-of-sequence journey through the extraordinary love, loss, resilience and disaster of many versions of the same family. Through the play’s 80 years we meet 8 very different members of the Gould family and watch as their lives intersect and pull apart.
